Become part of the Museum of Broken Relationships!
What remains when a relationship ends? That is the question posed by the Museum of Broken Relationships from Zagreb, Croatia. In the new year (23 January – 11 April 2027), it will be on display at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster. From this Friday (9 October), the museum is inviting visitors to contribute their own objects and stories from failed relationships to the exhibition. Until mid-November (15 November), visitors can hand in their mementos at the LWL Museum ticket office and have them featured in the exhibition.
Here’s how it works:
1. Complete the online form
Please first complete the form on the Museum of Broken Relationships website to submit an item for the exhibition. When filling in the form, please ensure you select Münster as the location. Ideally, the form should be completed online before you hand in your item. Alternatively, you can fill in the form on site at the LWL Museum library from Tuesday to Friday, 10 am – 6 pm. Our staff will be happy to help you with this.
2. Confirmation email
Once you have completed the online form, you will automatically receive a confirmation email. Please print out the attachment to the email and sign it.
If you do not have a printer, we can also print the form for you on site. In this case, please send an email to bibliothek.museumkunstkultur@lwl.org.
3. Handover of the object
There are now two options:
If your item does not exceed the dimensions of 37 x 27 x 31 cm, it can be handed in at the ticket office during the museum’s regular opening hours, Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
If your item is larger, please hand it in during our office hours. These are on Friday (9 October) from 6 pm to 8 pm, Wednesday (21 October) from 2 pm to 4 pm and Friday (13 November) from 6 pm to 8 pm. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at museumkunstkultur@lwl.org.
