Friends of the Museum für Kunst und Kultur
The association Freunde des Museums für Kunst und Kultur Münster e.V. was founded in 1976 to actively support the LWL Museum. Members can take a look behind the scenes, experience temporary exhibitions in guided tours by curators, and take part in conversations with artists, cultural trips, and visits to galleries.
Every year, the association members gather to decide which new works are to be acquired for the museum from the membership fees and individual donations. The Junge Freunde branch of the association was established in 2005 to attract trainees, students, young families and professionals who want to actively experience art and culture.
The association proposes a rich programme that includes visits and guided tours in galleries and studios as well as encounters with artists. Working in close collaboration with the LWL Museum and its temporary exhibitions, the association offers its members exclusive previews and guided tours led by curators, with free admission. It also organises visits to other cultural institutions in Münster and cultural trips to exhibitions in the region.
